Any quotation we provide is based on the information available to us at the time.
Unless otherwise stated, quotations are subject to confirmation following any required site survey, measurements or assessment of the premises.
A quotation may change if:
The dimensions or site conditions differ from the information originally provided.
Additional work becomes necessary.
The specification changes.
You request additional products, features or services.
Structural, electrical or access issues are identified.
Additional materials or labour are required.
Information supplied before the quotation proves inaccurate or incomplete.
We will inform you of material changes to the price before carrying out additional chargeable work wherever reasonably possible.
Unless otherwise stated on the quotation, prices are exclusive of VAT.
A contract is formed when we accept your order or otherwise confirm that we will proceed with the work.
Acceptance may require written confirmation, a signed quotation, purchase order or deposit, depending on the project.
You are responsible for checking the quotation, specification, measurements, colours, finishes, operating methods and other project details before approving an order.
If a product is manufactured to your approved specification, changes requested after manufacture has started may result in additional charges.
We may require a deposit before ordering materials, manufacturing bespoke products or scheduling installation.
The required deposit and payment schedule will be stated on your quotation or invoice.
Unless otherwise agreed in writing, outstanding balances must be paid according to the payment terms shown on the relevant invoice.
If payment becomes overdue, we reserve the right to suspend further work or withhold delivery or installation where legally permitted.
For business customers, we may also exercise any statutory rights available to us concerning late commercial payments.
Many of our shutters, doors and shopfronts are manufactured or ordered specifically for individual premises.
You are responsible for checking and approving specifications where we ask you to do so.
Bespoke products may include custom:
Dimensions.
Colours.
Finishes.
Materials.
Glazing.
Operating systems.
Controls.
Security features.
Other project-specific requirements.
Cancellation and return rights for genuinely bespoke or made-to-measure products may differ from those applying to standard products.
Nothing in these Terms and Conditions removes any statutory rights that cannot legally be excluded.
Where required, we may conduct a site survey before manufacturing or installing a product.
The survey allows us to assess dimensions, access, mounting conditions and other relevant aspects of the proposed installation.
You must tell us about any known issues that could affect the work, including concealed services, structural problems, asbestos, access restrictions or other hazards.
Where measurements or specifications are supplied by you or a third party rather than taken by us, you are responsible for their accuracy unless otherwise agreed.
Incorrect information may result in additional costs or delays.
You must provide reasonable and safe access to the premises at the agreed time.
The working area should be sufficiently clear for our team to carry out the agreed work safely.
You should inform us in advance of:
Restricted access.
Parking restrictions.
Loading restrictions.
Site induction requirements.
Working-hour restrictions.
Permit requirements.
Known hazards.
Asbestos or suspected asbestos.
Other circumstances that could affect the work.
If we cannot carry out the work because suitable access has not been provided, additional attendance or rescheduling charges may apply where reasonable.
We will carry out installation using reasonable care and skill.
Installation dates and timescales provided before work begins are estimates unless we expressly agree otherwise in writing.
Delays can occur because of circumstances outside our reasonable control, including material shortages, supplier delays, adverse weather, access problems or unexpected site conditions.
We will take reasonable steps to minimise disruption and complete the work within an appropriate timeframe.
Some shutters and doors require an appropriate electrical supply.
The quotation should identify whether electrical work is included within our scope.
Where an electrical supply must be provided by the customer or another contractor, it must be suitable for the equipment being installed and completed in accordance with applicable requirements.
Additional electrical work that falls outside the agreed quotation may incur additional charges.
Our quotations assume that the building and installation area are reasonably suitable for the proposed work unless otherwise stated.
If we discover structural defects, unsuitable fixing surfaces, concealed services or other unforeseen conditions, additional work may be required before installation can continue.
We will discuss significant additional work with you before proceeding wherever reasonably practicable.
We are not responsible for pre-existing defects in the building or surrounding structure.
Some installations may require planning permission, landlord approval, building regulation approval or another form of consent.
Unless expressly included within our quotation, you are responsible for obtaining any necessary permissions or approvals before work begins.
You should tell us if the property is listed, located within a conservation area or subject to restrictions that could affect the proposed work.
Fire rated shutters and associated products must be specified according to the requirements of the particular building and application.
Where a specific fire performance is required, you are responsible for providing the relevant specification, fire strategy or other project requirements unless we have expressly agreed to provide specification services.
The performance of a fire-rated installation depends on the complete system, surrounding construction, installation and ongoing maintenance.
We will not represent a product as providing a particular fire performance unless that performance applies to the product and installation being supplied.
Fire-rated products should be inspected, tested and maintained according to applicable requirements and manufacturer instructions.
Repair work is based on the condition of the shutter or other equipment when inspected.
A repair may reveal additional faults that could not reasonably have been identified beforehand.
If further work or replacement parts are required, we will explain the additional work and applicable charges before proceeding where reasonably possible.
A repair does not guarantee that unrelated components will not subsequently fail.
Where a system is extensively damaged, obsolete or uneconomical to repair, we may recommend replacement instead.
Roller shutters, doors and associated equipment contain moving components that can wear through regular use.
Customers are responsible for arranging appropriate inspection, servicing and maintenance according to the product, frequency of use, manufacturer instructions and applicable safety requirements.
Failure to maintain equipment appropriately may affect its reliability and could affect any applicable warranty.
We make reasonable efforts to provide products that correspond with agreed colours, samples and specifications.
Minor variations can occur between digital images, physical samples, batches, coatings and finished products.
Screens can also display colours differently.
Where colour matching is particularly important, this should be discussed and agreed before an order is confirmed.
Any applicable product or workmanship warranty will be stated in your quotation, order documentation or warranty information.
Warranties may be subject to conditions concerning correct operation, servicing and maintenance.
A warranty may not cover damage caused by:
Misuse.
Accidental or deliberate damage.
Impact or collision.
Unauthorised alteration or repair.
Failure to maintain the product appropriately.
Damage caused by third parties.
Problems with the building or electrical supply.
Events outside our reasonable control.
Normal wear and tear where applicable.
Nothing in this section affects statutory rights that cannot legally be excluded or restricted.
If you wish to cancel an order, you should contact us as soon as possible.
Cancellation rights depend on the circumstances, including whether you are acting as a consumer or business customer and whether goods have been made to your specifications.
Where work has already started or bespoke products have entered manufacture, you may be responsible for costs already reasonably incurred, subject to your statutory rights.
Any cancellation charges will reflect the circumstances of the order and applicable law.
If you are purchasing our services wholly or mainly outside your trade, business, craft or profession, you may have additional rights under UK consumer law.
Nothing in these Terms and Conditions is intended to exclude or restrict rights provided to consumers that cannot legally be excluded.
Where applicable, services will be provided with reasonable care and skill and goods must meet the requirements imposed by applicable consumer law.
If you are unhappy with our products or services, please contact us as soon as possible.
Provide details of the issue, relevant photographs where appropriate and your quotation, invoice or job reference if available.
We will review the complaint and aim to provide an appropriate response.
Nothing in these Terms and Conditions excludes or limits liability where doing so would be unlawful.
Subject to applicable law, we are not responsible for losses caused by circumstances outside our reasonable control or losses that could not reasonably have been anticipated when the contract was formed.
For business customers, additional limitations or exclusions of liability may be stated in the relevant quotation or contract.
Nothing in these Terms limits liability for death or personal injury caused by negligence, fraud or fraudulent misrepresentation, or any other liability that cannot legally be excluded or limited.
You are responsible for providing accurate information about your requirements and the premises.
You must also:
Provide reasonable access to the installation or repair area.
Tell us about known hazards and restrictions.
Obtain permissions for which you are responsible.
Operate products according to supplied instructions.
Arrange appropriate maintenance where required.
Avoid making unauthorised alterations that could affect safety or performance.
Pay invoices according to the agreed payment terms.
We are not responsible for delays or failure to perform obligations caused by events outside our reasonable control.
These may include severe weather, flooding, fire, industrial disputes, transport disruption, supplier failures, shortages, utility failures, government restrictions or other unforeseen events.
Where such circumstances affect a project, we will take reasonable steps to resume the work when practicable.
